Meals

Whether you’re packing their lunch box or getting dinner on the table, these are the best healthy meals for kids! As a mom and registered dietitian, it’s important to me to make delicious, nutritious meals kids are excited to eat.

For example, recipes like these homemade pizza rolls are always a crowd-pleaser! Most kids love pizza, and these ones are made with whole wheat pizza dough for extra fibre, low-sodium pizza sauce, and I like to add a few different types of veggies that tend to incorporate in the dough once it’s rolled up.

This chicken pastina soup is like a fun Italian take on chicken noodle soup. It’s full of hearty broth, real chicken, and delicious herbs and seasonings. I like to use star-shaped pastina noodles because they’re easy to eat and kids love them!

Have a mac & cheese lover in your family? Skip the boxed mixes and make this 5-ingredient mac and cheese with whole wheat pasta. You can serve it with steamed broccoli, ham, bacon, peas, or a variety of other mix-ins to make it just right!

My Feeding Philosophy

I get it. Feeding kids can be tough.
I’ve learned that the key to getting kids to try new foods is to keep it fresh and exciting, get them involved, and inject a little enthusiasm and creativity into how you serve them up. Above all else, don’t give up. If you’re serving balanced meals and snacks throughout the day, then you’re doing a good job!
